Magnet Fishing
See Some of Our Best Finds!

The First Day
Our very first magnet fishing cast was early 2021 - it was raining and cold. However, for an hours work we found plenty of tools and metal trash.

A Backpack
Now having 2 magnets (had to buy another to retrieve one that came off its rope), we filled up this backpack with lots of metal trash.

Recovering a Street Sign
Due to the heavy rust on this sign, it took close to an hour to maneuver it out of the water. Still not sure why or how it ended up there.

Using the Claw
We came back to our same spot with a grappling hook/fishing claw in order to help with larger pieces. We were able to reel-in a few nonmetal things, including this traffic cone and bike tire. However, the most interesting catch we DIDNT find with a magnet was this Miter saw. Combined with the tools we foud on our first trip, someone must have lost a considrable chunk of their toolshed to this river.

Beginners Luck
At the end of the day I had hooked a piece of trash on my magnet and was trying to catch it as it kept falling off. In doing so I hooked onto this beauty. Definitely a real firearm, however, there were no loaded casings. Finds like this definitely make you think about the circumstances leading to such things being at the bottom of a river. The only bad thing about this find is that it may very well ruin magnet fishing for us at any other location now.
